Without formal training in music, Dennis was playing drums by the age of 4 and by 6 he was playing in nightclubs. After high school he played with a band called Parliament and Funkadelic for 7 years. In 1987 he joined up with the David Sanborn Band and the John Scofield band ending in 1989. Shortly after that he joined the Mike Stern/ Bob Berg band. Since that time Dennis has played with such luminaries as Bill Evans, Mike Urbaniak, George Duke, Stanley Clarke, Steve Kahn, The Brecker Brothers Band and many others.

Before we had a chance to send Dennis a Robokey 4X, he had already picked one up at a Guitar Center. We found this out in a fun way when we picked up the phone at the office on a Saturday afternoon, “Hey this is Dennis Chambers.” OKAY. THE Dennis Chambers- that’s what I thought but just played it cool. “DENNIS !” “I use this Robokey tool all the time man and it’s cool”. He just wanted to let us know! Thank you Dennis. Keep up your intensity and musical beauty. We are proud to be a little part of your arsenal.

Names like Weather Report, Maynard Ferguson, Jaco Pastorious and the late Michael Brecker. And the impressive list would go on and on, since Peter has touring and recording credits on literally hundreds of albums with artists like Steely Dan, Diana Krall, Chick Corea, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Gary Burton & Pat Metheny, Joni Mitchell, Kurt Elling, Sadao Watanabe, Eliane Elias, Mike Stern, Miroslav Vitous and Jan Garbarek; [Don't forget to breath here!] the BBC Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic New Music Ensemble, Ensemble Modern, the ASKO, Avanti & Absolute Ensembles; “Bass Desires” (with John Scofield, Bill Frisell, and Marc Johnson), the John Abercrombie Trio, the Kenny Wheeler Quintet & Big Band, the Bob Mintzer Big Band, the Yellowjackets as well as his own groups, including Trios with John Taylor, Palle Danielsson, Rita Marcotulli, and his current band with Alan Pasqua and Dave Carpenter.

As for his using our product, Peter was immediately impressed with how the RoboKey 4X works and what it does. Needless to say, we made sure that he had one to try out and put to the test. “I think your product is terrific… I’ve used it, and it’s great.” Thanks Peter. Carry on with your beautiful music, and we don’t want to sound like your mother, but don’t forget your RoboKey!
