St. Louis , MISSOURI (NOV 2006) – RoboKey USA is pleased to announce the rollout of the ROBOKEY 4X drum maintenance tool, made just for drummers. The 4X is a palm-sized drum key with an inline, ratio gear system that increases wrist turning speed on standard drum bolts 4X times or more, allowing drummers to replace drum heads faster.

CAD-designed with a ‘space-shuttle’ T-handle and machined-steel gearing, the drum key is a little over 4 inches long and weighs 4.3oz., compact enough for most drummer’s needs. The solid, polypro handle is molded in neon green for easy ID in dark stage areas or a gig bag. Additionally, the key-tip fits directly on square drum bolts without losable adaptors. Although there are many types of crank and ratchet drum keys available, the patented RoboKey 4X is the only one that actually increases wrist-turning speed. Turn the handle once, and the bolt turns 4 times. The design also allows for logo embossing along the length of the handle when indicated. The tool was well received at the recent NAMM show in Austin with accolades from drummers and retailers. The product is now in the hands of distributors and some retailers with a list price of $29.95. Dubbed ‘A real super tool…’ by DRUM! Magazine, the product has appeared in ‘Spotlight’ columns and catchy ads. Early adopters have given the gadget high marks. Rich Redmond of the Jason Aldean band (who recently appeared on the CMA show on ABC) calls it a “Wrist-saver… that goes everywhere with me.” RoboKey is presently being distributed in the USA, Canada, Australia, the UK/ Ireland, Italy and Thailand, but remains open for much of Europe and elsewhere. The product will be featured at booth 2896 in the upcoming NAMM show in Anaheim California, January ‘06.

Al ‘Ox’ Oxenhandler, the company president, a drummer, pianist, singer, tap dancer and inventor states: “Those long screws are a drag and drummers grimace when dealing with them. Electric tools are impractical, and nothing out there really increased turning speed, so I am pumped to see this 2-year project finally coming to market. Makes me wanna dance!” 12 units ship in a compact display box and the package design encourages the customer to try out the tool right on the hang card.

RoboKey USA is part of St. Louis MISSOURI corporation Alan Lloyd Design, formed in 1999 and specializing in the design and marketing of tools for niche markets.
